A sweet and not too tangy barbecue sauce that I love for grilled chicken, ribs and wings! I use honey vs brown sugar for a more healthy option! Super yummy yal'L!
There's nothing better than homemade BBQ sauce and it's super easy to whip up! Besides there's not all those additives and high fructose corn syrup we see in most of the bottled stuff! That's yuck to my body!
1 Cup Ketchup (I use 365 brand because it does not have corn syrup)
2 / 3 Cup Apple Cider Vinager
1 / 4 Cup raw Honey (taste for desired sweetness)
1 / 4 Cup Molasses (I use gluten free Brer Rabbit Blackstrap)
1 Tablespoon Lea & Perrins Worshishire
I add in some coronut aminos too.
1 / 4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder and Onion Powder, 1 / 2 Teaspoon kosher salt, 1 /2 Teaspoon garlic pepper, 1 / 4 Teaspoon black pepper
Remove seeds from a jalapeno and chop to add a little kick to your sauce if you like it like that!
Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over high heat whisking until smooth, bring to a boil and then simmer on low for about 35 to 40 minutes. Pour into jar. Makes about 1 1 / 2 cups.
Note: I cook my chicken legs with thighs attached after adding some olive oil, salt and garlic pepper for about 10 minutes in the microwave first. With ribs I season them and fold in foil and bake on 295 for about 2 hours before grilling them. With wings I brine them in kosher salt and a little fresh dried Stevia for a few hours then rinse and add olive oil and bake at 295 and baste with the BBQ sauce and set on Broil the last few minutes.
Enjoy on grilled chicken, ribs and wings!
Stay Strong!
