Tuesday, 01/15/13 - Healthy benefits of beets and raw juice recipe

Beets help your mental health

Beets contain betaine, the same substance that is used in certain treatments of depression. It also contains trytophan, which relaxes the mind and creates a sense of well-being, similar to chocolate. Beets can also lower your blood pressure. So if you’re already steamed about not eating beets, you can get a two-fer by diving into them right away.

Raw Beet Juice Recipe in NutriBullet

1 Beet (I roasted some beets and used them in this recipe) but I have had them raw too.  They are a bit harder to grind up raw. But the NutriBullet will do the trick.   If you have the tops use some of those too!

Swiss Chard

0.2 inch Tumeric Root

0.2 inch Ginger Root

0.2 inch horseradish Root

Fill line with water.   I use YOLI Better Body FUN drink to give it a sweeter taste!  It's delicous!   Yoli's drinks have no artificial sweeteners.

Enjoy the Journey!
