Wednesday, 11/05/14 - Gluten Free Lady Greens Product Review & Holiday Recipes

First, a little heads up that I've started the Essentials of Sport And Exercise Nutrition certification which is an extensive Health Coaching certification for fitness professionals from Precision Nutrition.  It feels like I'm back in school again at age 61!  Whew!  Excited about this new journey to be able to help and encourage more people who contact me for support!  Learning lot's of good stuff and confident this will help me become more knowledgeable in helping clients stay on track to reach their wellness goals.

I've also started a fitness center at our church here in Spicewood and that's going great so this new certification will fit in nicely with that ministry!  We just lost a dear sister who had a fatal stroke. She was in her fifties.  Although we do realize she is now whole again and with her Lord we sure do miss her presence and her stories.  This propels me even more to stay focused on my mission to help the people who have a desire for better long term health and vitality.

While I have your attention, here's another quick shout about this powerful supplement I’ve added to our family nutritional arsenal. It was recommended by one of the Functional Medicine Advocates that I met during the gluten free summit events. This product is NOT sold through MLM however and I'm not involved with recruiting for any new company.  However, please understand that I do evaluations of certain health products that are recommended by reputable sources that I can safely take and recommend here on Gluten Free Lady and this happens to be one of them.

We just received the product last weekend and so far impressed with how it makes me feel! Finally found a ‘green drink’ I can actually have daily with no gluten or wheat and it has so many health benefits!  Best thing is, it taste good too.

My husband likes it and says it taste better than some of the other green drinks I’ve ask him to try.  Some of them were quite aweful tasting, contained wheat and had no where near the health benefits of this product and cost much more because of the distribution method they were sold through not to mention all the hype involved.   Personally I can tell this greens drink gives me energy too without that buzz feeling or crash effect.   I’m also adding it to my morning protein shake. We are replacing several other products we currently use with this one product so that will save us a fair amount of money.  In fact, over $100 plus.

I'm very confident in recommending this one to my clients for increased health and well being. Sue Seward – Gluten Free Lady Coach and Fitness Professional

“While I love the concept of green drinks, I find them tough to be compliant with for the long haul.

Dr. Cabeca assured me that I would like the taste of Mighty Maca and I honestly didn't believe her. She proved me wrong! I actually LIKE drinking this one and am now a big fan. I love the effect on my energy and skin too! This is the one that I can happily recommend to my clients and know that they will thank me for!”

While you're here be sure to pick up some of my holiday recipes!  Can you believe they are just around the corner?  You're not stressing very much yet are you?  Take a few deep breaths, maybe a few more!  You can do it!  Especially if you decide to take this new supplement I just recommended because Dr. Cabeca assures us that it also helps with stress!

Oh one more thing before you go. I just picked up a new recipe book full of yummy quick and easy on the go Paleo breakfast and lunch recipes that I will be sharing with you soon!

Here's a quick healthy recipe:

Sautéed Tomato Discs

Here's a quick healthy recipe:

Sautéed Tomato Discs

  • 1 large, ripe tomato
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Grated Parmesan-Reggiano cheese (fresh is best) or variations below
  • Sea salt

Directions:

Rinse tomato.  Slice off the bottom end just enough to take off any hard pieces.  Then use your knife to remove the hard top spot where the stem connected to the tomato.  Don’t cut too deep, just remove the minimum.

Cut the tomato in half through the ‘equator’ (not from top to bottom).  Heat skillet over medium and add olive oil.  Once the oil is hot, place the tomatoes ‘cut side’ down in the oil.

Cook for about 5 to 8 minutes so they can cook fully and slightly brown on the cut side. You may want to cover with a lid for faster cooking.

Remove halves from pan so that the cooked side is now face up.  Sprinkle on some sea salt and Parmesan cheese.

Enjoy!

Variations:

Add some fresh basil, rosemary, thyme, oregano, goat or feta cheese

My prayers are with you for a healthy and happy holiday season!
